Mt. Stuart: One of "50 Classic Climbs of N. America"

"One of "The 50 Classic Climbs of North America", the North Ridge of Mount Stuart, is a mega-classic 20-pitch rock route jutting out of the Stuart Glacier on the eastern slopes of the Cascades. Dan Whitmore had been dreaming about climbing the North Ridge of Mt. Stuart since he started climbing, and now we were hoping to make that dream a reality.

Mt. Triumph Northeast Buttress and Liberty Bell Mountain Beckey Route

During the last week of July I dusted off my old guiding skills and headed for the hills! Now spending more of my time in the office it felt good to bust out one of the North Cascade's classic alpine rock climbs. Joining me was Gordon Smith, whom over the years I journeyed to the volcanoes of Ecuador, to climb a bunch of alpine climbs in the Cascades, and to Russia in 1990 to climb Mt. Local Action in the Cascade Range

Summer has arrived in all its glory in Washington State and Mountain Madness teams have been getting after it successfully in the mountains and on the rock.
