First Ama Dablam Expedition Departing!

MM Swedish client Per O. joined MM Nepali guide Tulsi Gurung Sherpa recently in Kathmandu as they both prepare for their upcoming ascent of Ama Dablam! Per has been climbing 5000 meter peaks in Africa and Asia over the past two decades and has decided to tackle this stunning 6858 meter (22,501 feet) peak. Prior to his expedition, he is stopping over in Rivendell, Pungitanga, and Dingboche to work on a project that will repair mani wheels. For those of you who have been to Nepal, you know of these beautiful prayer wheels made of metal, wood or stone.

Then it is off to Island Peak and Ama Dablam! We look forward to hearing more from Per and Tulsi as they head up into the valley. Here are some photos from their trip so far!

"Everything is perfect so far. Tusli Gurung is a fantastic person and we have lots of fun. We are now at Rivendell in Debouche for the main part of the mani wheel work. We'll move on to Dingboche on the 13th as planned.. And then to the lofty heights!"
