We’re pleased to say that we’ve heard from our group in Alaska on the eight-day expedition training course in the Ruth Gorge! This is the message from Mountain Madness guide Dave Ahrens:

Hello Mountain Madness! This is Dave Ahrens calling in for our daily update from the Ruth Glacier. We just finished up a day of crevasse rescue training in a nice big crevasse. Everyone got a chance to spend some time hanging in the big blue hole, jugging out on ascenders, and setting up a 3:1 haul. We started off this morning with top notch breakfast of sausage and hash browns that would rival anything they serve up at the Roadhouse. The weather is absolutely awesome. We’re heading back to camp now to dig a cache for some of our supplies and get ready to head toward Mt. Dickey tomorrow. We’ll check in again soon. Ciao!”

Stay tuned for more updates!
