Elbrus Group Reaches Baksan Valley

Yesterday the crew spent the day traveling. We piled into a van with all our gear and started a 2 hour drive to the Moscow airport. The airport was hopping! And with a group of 16, we added to the chaos. Elbrus Season Kick-Off

MM Guides Tino Villanueva, Dave Ahrens and Alan Rousseau have made it to Moscow, along with 10 climbers and 3 skiiers, coming from the US, Canada, Singapore, and South Africa, for our first Elbrus climb and ski descent of the season! Everyone arrived yesterday with all of their gear in tow, and started off the trip with an intriguing tour of Moscow. Dave wrote in with a report:

Cotopaxi: No summit, but the right choice!

Word has just come in to the Mountain Madness office of the Cotopaxi Trek or Climb trip. While the group did not summit, our guides made the right decision in turning back when the danger was too great.

First Baker Ascent of the Season!

"I just finished up a great 3 days on the Easton Glacier route of Mt. Baker! I was fortunate enough to have 2 great clients, Dave Chamberlain and Flor Aparicio as well as professional photographer Vincent Lamphier, who was there to take photos for Mountain Madness. This was my first time guiding a trip on Baker for MM.

100% Success On Three Bolivia Peaks!

MM Guide Sebastian Carrasco has checked in with final news of our first Bolivia Mountaineering School of the season! The group was tasked with scaling three big, beautiful peaks, Pequeño Alpamayo, Huayna Potosi and Illimani, and climb is what they did.
