In 1956 the Amazon forest, people known as the Huaorani caught the attention of the world. The story of five missionaries being killed by the Huaorani created a media sensation across the globe that ushered in what became a long-standing perception of these people being nothing less than undignified savages. Fast forward to 2013 and you find a people and their once bountiful homeland of primeval tropical rainforest surrounded by the modern world. Into Thin Air - Still Inspiring Young Students

Over 15 years later, we're proud and honored to see that Scott Fischer's legacy still inspires young people all over the world. We were especially happy to receive a note from a teacher in New York who has been teaching Into Thin Air to her English students. It sounds like the students have been totally captured by the adventure and tragedy of the book and have taken away some valuable lessons for everyday life. 75-year-old Trekker Barbara Gessaman Makes a Difference with MM

Coworkers Team Building in Avalanche Course!

Seems like I keep hearing people mention the word “Spring” around town in Seattle. However, for those who love to spend time in the mountains this time of year, we know that winter is still very much control. Mountain Madness Ski Guide and Avalanche Instructor Dallas Glass spent three days with five employees from Seattle area based Yukon Trading Company exploring snow, weather, and avalanche education. It was a great opportunity for these coworkers to enjoy the backcountry and exercise good team building!
