Elbrus Team Reaches Blooming Baksan Valley

Elbrus season has begun in Russia and the climbing season is in full swing. Our group met in Moscow to take in some of the sights and culture of this foreign land before heading to the mountain. The team is an unlikely match, with members joining from Hong Kong, Florida and Alaska.  Though the places we call home stretch all around the world, we have a strong team and we are looking forward to heading up to the Barrels camp today.  Everybody is ready to stride out their climbing legs on the mountain and the skiers are ready to rip some turns down the highest mountain in Europe.

We started off on July 5 in Moscow with a nice Russian style orientation dinner, followed by a tour of the city the next day. We made stops at the Kremlin, Red Square, and Moscow University before heading to Old Arbat street for entertainment and dinner. [+] READ MORE
