Elbrus Express Takes Off!

The Elbrus Express is charging full speed ahead.  After a quick in-and-out of Moscow, we flew down south to the Caucasus region. Two starkly beautiful days of acclimatization hikes, one crystal clear and one cloudy and rainy, have quickly preceded our arrival at the Barrels Camp, where we have moved in for our first night on the mountain.

Success on Ski Descent of Elbrus!

This weekend, the Elbrus team was back in the lowlands of the Baksan valley. Our summit day was absolutely perfect. Cloudless skies and breathless wind made for glorious climbing conditions.

Elbrus Team Reaches Blooming Baksan Valley

Elbrus season has begun in Russia and the climbing season is in full swing. Our group met in Moscow to take in some of the sights and culture of this foreign land before heading to the mountain. The team is an unlikely match, with members joining from Hong Kong, Florida and Alaska.  Though the places we call home stretch all around the world, we have a strong team and we are looking forward to heading up to the Barrels camp today.  Everybody is ready to stride out their climbing legs on the mountain and the skiers are ready to rip some turns down the highest mountain in Europe.

Third Elbrus Team Heads To The Mountain
