Ecuador School

Ecuador school is now done with four days of training and heading back up to Cayambe yesterday for the climb. With their new skills they will work their way up the glaciers of Cayambe in the wee hours of the night.

There is still an opportunity to join MM in February for a school or summit climbs if you already have expereince. Then things simmer down a bit during the rainy season and start back up again in late May or early June. Stay tuned for an update for the team in the meantime!

Getting Primed for Climb in the Ecuador Climbing School

Today, we came down from Cayambe after four days of an intense Ecuador Mountaineering School. This time, Liina, a dentist from Finland, and John, an engineer from Oregon, joined our trip. They came not just for the opportunity of attempting three of the highest volcanoes in Ecuador, but also to learn the fundamentals for enjoying the mountains with safety.

Bolivia climbing season ends with some great ascents!

Despite some unpleasant weather during our acclimatization at Lake Titikaka, the second Bolivia Mountaineering School group was very successful. Fortunately for us our weather luck changed once we got in to the Condoriri area; a stunning place with a couple of lakes and several peaks including Tarija and Pequeño Alpamayo, our firsts climbing objectives. Ecuador School Summits Cayambe!

Congratulations to the Ecuador Mountaineering School team in the midst of their expedition. Six of our nine clients reached the summit of Cayambe this weekend and are already looking forward to their summit attempt of Cotopaxi!
