Ecuador Mountaineering School Summits Cayambe, Iliniza North, and Chimborazo

The latest Ecuador Mountaineering School started with a city tour in Quito, visiting churches and walking around the town as climbers got accustomed to the altitude of the Andes. The first acclimitization climb was Ruco Pichincha, aka "Raccoon Pikachu," where the team kept their fingers crossed for the weather to hold out during the five-hour trip. It did - that day.

Early season on the Easton Glacier route of Mt. Baker

Mountain Madness guide Chris Marshall and assistant Quinn Rohlf just came off a successful summit climb of Mount Baker. While the weather low on the mountain wasn't exactly cooperative, the team, fueled by gourmet backcountry cuisine, persevered climbing through a whiteout and were rewarded with a bluebird summit! Into Thin Air - Still Inspiring Young Students

Over 15 years later, we're proud and honored to see that Scott Fischer's legacy still inspires young people all over the world. We were especially happy to receive a note from a teacher in New York who has been teaching Into Thin Air to her English students. It sounds like the students have been totally captured by the adventure and tragedy of the book and have taken away some valuable lessons for everyday life.
