Speedy and Successful Summit of Elbrus

The third Mountain Madness Elbrus trip for 2016 went off without a hitch! 

I'd like to thank the whole team for an incredible expedition - I'm psyched to have made so many new friends! 

Some of the highlights from this trip include two beautiful acclimatization hikes in the Elbrus region, a perfect summit day, and of course the wonderful accommodation at the Hotel Povorot in Cheget.

A Bit of Luck for Elbrus Group 2

MM Guide Mark Pugliese reports on the second of three Elbrus trip of the season that was met with some good luck and a successful summit! 

After a day touring the Kremlin and Red Square in Moscow, our group boarded the domestic flight to Mineralnye Vody and drove south to the Caucasus mountain range.

Honeymoon on Kilimanjaro

Our most recent expedition to Kilimanjaro was last month, just before the start of the spring rainy season. Anne and Daniel wanted to celebrate their marriage by taking the trip of a lifetime to Tanzania. Upon arriving, they were taken to our Itikoni Camp in Arusha National Park.  Itikoni is a great spot to rest from their travel to Tanzania and, because it’s at 6,500 ft., they started acclimatizing for the ascent of Kilimanjaro. During their two days at Itikoni Anne and Daniel were able to take game viewing hikes in addition to relaxing and enjoying the amazing food!

Guest Blog - A Climber's Journal of Aconcagua

I am off to Argentina today to join with 8 other climbers and 3 guides from Mountain Madness to attempt a summit of Aconcagua via the Normal Route.

The team is arriving in Mendoza, Argentina over the next few days and we will soon begin our expedition and ascent of the highest mountain in the western and southern hemispheres. Aconcagua (the stone sentinel) stands at an impressive 6962m (22,834 ft.) above sea level, one of the “7 Summits”. It is great training for the high altitude peaks in the Himalayas. [+] READ MORE
