Chopikalki and Ishinka Expedition Off to a Great Start

MM Guide Juliana Garcia writes in to report that all six clients have arrived in Peru for the Chopakalki and Ishinka expedition.

Group welcome dinner.

They’ve finished two days of acclimatization hikes; the first to Wilcacocha Lake and Cordillera Negra near Huaraz, the second to Churup Lake at 14,000 feet. Everyone is feeling great and full of energy as they look forward to the next six days in the Ishinca Valley.

Taking a scenic break with some local wildlife.

Getting some altitude for acclimatization.

Clear turquoise waters of Churup Lake.

The group at Churup Lake, 14,000 ft/4450 m.
