Ecuador Update 6/12/2017

Madness guide Juliana Garcia writes in with this update on the Ecuador expedition:

After few days of acclimatization in our amazing mountains, we summitted Iliniza Norte, followed by Cayambe.

On Cayambe we had a great weather, a full moon, good snow conditions, and a lot of motivation from our team! After many hours of battling up, we made it to the summit in eight hours. Laurence and Samuel, congrats on your effort!

We rested one day in the beautiful Chimborazo hills, taking a break, and enjoying some thicker air.

We decide to camp in Chimborazo, at 5100m, just at the base of the Castillo route. We had great weather in the afternoon and a clear but windy and cold night.

Our team did great! We reached 5500m, where we turned around and decided that this was our summit!

Some photos from the expedition:

Papallacta Hot Springs.
