Elbrus Climbing Season Approaching

We’re get­ting excit­ed for our Elbrus sea­son to begin in a cou­ple of months with 4 trips fill­ing quick­ly with climbers and skiers alike. Our client favorites, MM Guides Oswal­do Freire and Mark Ryman, will be head­ing up the expe­di­tions this year. 

Mt. Elbrus

This year, we’re mak­ing St. Peters­burg exten­sions eas­i­er to book to give our climbers an oppor­tu­ni­ty to see more of the great cul­tur­al sights of Rus­sia. For an addi­tion­al 2 days, climbers can trav­el to St. Peters­burg and see Nevsky Prospect, St. Peters­burg’s live­ly main street, the Kazan Cathe­dral, Pushkin, and oth­er great sights of this beau­ti­ful city. We will vis­it the mag­nif­i­cent build­ings of the Her­mitage and the Eka­te­ri­na Palace in Pushkin. Our local guide will give you a glimpse into this city and its amaz­ing his­to­ry; just anoth­er way to immerse your­self in the coun­try before or after your adven­ture on the sum­mit of Mount Elbrus. 

St. Peters­burg

And have we got a smack­down for you! Cham­pi­on wrestler John Lay­field will be join­ing us to climb the high­est peak in Europe, his first of the Sev­en Sum­mits, as he rais­es mon­ey for a kids’ pro­gram in Bermuda.

John, a for­mer WWE wrestling cham­pi­on, will be attempt­ing to plant a Bermu­da flag at the top of each of the Sev­en Sum­mits in an effort to raise mon­ey for chil­dren in Bermu­da through the Fam­i­ly Cen­tre. 100% of the pro­ceeds will go to this center.

“I have been enam­ored with Ever­est since I was a kid read­ing about Sir Hillary and Mal­lo­ry. My goal is to climb the Sev­en Sum­mits by age 50 (I am 45 now and will start with Elbrus in June.) I tell these kids in Bermu­da that ​“we all have moun­tains.” The kids will mim­ic my climb with an endeav­or of their own while I’m on the mountains.”
