70 — the new 50: Everest Base Camp Trek/congrats to Barbara and Ben!

Barbara Gessaman and Dr. Ben Eidelman were both part of our trek group this fall, and they made it to Everest Base Camp in high spirits! With consistent training and a Sherpa handy, they were safe and successful with Mountain Madness.

Everest Base camp Trek - 2011

It’s an experience not to be missed because of the unrivaled scenery and splendid vistas of the Himalayas. The experience was enriched by the group camaraderie and facilitated by an extremely well-oiled organization that provides good support and outstanding leadership. If you are an experienced hiker and stay fit and train for the trip, you can make it to Everest Base Camp. Thanks Mountain Madness!!”

—Dr. Ben Eidelman (age 71), Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida

This was the experience of a lifetime. It doesn’t compare to my other climbs, some of which have been to higher altitudes. This was the ultimate in personal achievement because it was a physical, mental, and emotional challenge. Hiking with the Mountain Madness staff is what made it possible. I couldn’t have done it without the support and encouragement from everyone at Mountain Madness!!”
