Bhutan remains an exclusive destination with pristine wilderness, charming painted houses, imposing fortress-monasteries, friendly people, and a Buddhist government striving for Gross National Happiness. Blending cultural insight with adventure, we offer a dynamic itinerary that you won’t find anywhere else. For active travelers, this tour of Bhutan encompasses what the country is best known for: mask dances, exquisite monasteries, superb landscapes, outdoor activities, and excellent service and accommodations.
- Two days biking in pastoral Haa Valley
- Afternoon easy rafting
- Numerous day hikes
- Mask dance festival
- Private tours of Tiger’s Nest, Thimphu, Punaka, and more.
- Socially and environmentally conscious travel without sacrificing comfort
Active Adventure: Hike to small villages, nestled among temples and monasteries in the beautiful countryside. Bike up the curving road to Haa Valley or ride up in the support car and then enjoy a downhill bike cruise. Take an easy raft on a Class 2/3 river through lush Punakha valley or spend the afternoon relaxing in a safari tent camp. Throughout the trip, you will have spectacular views of steep sided valleys and occasional panoramas of snow capped peaks reaching nearly 25,000 ft.
Vibrant Culture: Attend an ornate mask dance festival where monks of Bumthang Valley purify the area of evil spirits and local people dress in their finest clothing for the event. Monastery tours in Thimphu and other towns reveal splendid painting and sculpture and an inside look at monastic life. Witness archery competitions and traditional weaving of Bhutan’s famously complex textiles.
Care and Comfort: Our expert staff will ensure you are well taken care of throughout your trip. Accommodations are local, family run lodges which are comfortable, clean, and delightful!
